Digitalization Voucher 2020 – 2021

It is an aid that the Italian state offers to Enterprises that need to renew business technologies and provides a maximum of 10000 euros of non-repayable disbursement.

The vouchers basically represent reimbursements following the technological adaptation of the applicant company, which will have to apply on the Invitalia website , under the section Receiving Applications. On this site, it is also possible to check the progress of application and acceptance and the amount of money disbursed, which should be no more than 50 percent of the amounts spent on technology upgrading.

Notices and timelines are published periodically on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Digitalization Voucher: What It Funds

The voucher can be used to purchase software, hardware and/or specialized services that enable:

  • Improving business efficiency;
  • Modernize the organization of work, through the use of Technological tools and forms of labor flexibility, including telecommuting;
  • Develop e-commerce solutions;
  • Take advantage of broadband and ultrawideband connectivity or connection to the Internet via satellite technology;
  • To carry out qualified staff training interventions in the ICT field.

Purchases are to be completed following the publication on the Ministry’s website of the cumulative Voucher reservation order adopted region by region.

Smart Money, or the revitalization of Innovative start-ups

The decree of the Minister of Economic Development dated Sept. 18, 2020, defined ways and timing for the activation of economic facilitation measures provided by Article 38, paragraph 2, of the “Relaunch Decree,” in favor of innovative startups.

Also for “Smart Money” projects, grants are returned in the form of a non-repayable contribution in the amount of 80 percent of the expenses incurred and deemed eligible for the fulfillment of business plans, up to a maximum limit of 10,000.00 euros per innovative start-up.

The purpose of the “Smart Money” facilities is to strengthen the system of innovative start-ups in the Italian territory through support for the planned projects and strategic planning. For example, they fund themselves:

  • Organizational, operational and strategic consulting aimed at project development and implementation;
  • The management of intellectual property;
  • Support in the self-assessment of digital maturity;
  • Technology development and scouting;
  • Prototyping, excluding the functional prototype;
  • Preparatory work for crowfunding campaigns;
  • Only if associated with the provision of services falling under the above areas, the provision of the physical space and related ancillary connection and networking services necessary to carry out project activities.

Who can participate in Smart Money Calls for Proposals

Innovative and scalable development projects must be submitted to gain access.

You can qualify for benefits under the Smart Money Call for Proposals if you meet the following requirements:

  • Being classifiable as a small enterprise, in accordance with the provisions of Annex 1 of Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014;
  • Be duly established for less than 24 months and registered in the special section of the Commercial Register;
  • Be in the early stages of business start-up or in the first phase of testing the business idea(pre-seed), or are in the stage of creating the product/market fit combination(seed);
  • Have registered and operational headquarters located throughout the country;

The new National Transition 4.0 Plan

Within the New Transition 4.0 Plan is the Tax Credit for investment in capital goods, which we have already discussed in this article.

The Tax Credit is designed to support and incentivize companies that invest in new tangible and intangible capital goods functional to the technological and digital transformation of production processes intended for realities located in the Italian territory.

The new National Transition 4.0 Plan has two key goals:

  • Stimulate private investment;
  • Give stability and certainty to businesses with measures that take effect from November 2020 to June 2023.
  • The possibility, for contracts for the purchase of capital goods defined by 31/12/2022, to benefit from the credit with only the payment of a down payment equal to at least 20% of the amount and delivery of the goods in the following 6 months (thus, by June 2023) is confirmed.

The important innovations introduced in 2020 (Law 260/2019) and also extended in the Budget Law 2021, such as super-depreciation and hyper-depreciation, were incorporated into the tax credit.

“Digital Transformation”

The objective of the call is to support the technological and digital transformation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the development of projects aimed at implementing the enabling technologies identified in the National Enterprise 4.0 Plan and other digital supply chain technologies.

Projects funded by the Digital Transormation Call for Proposals must contain the activation of the enabling technologies identified in the National Enterprise 4.0 Plan. as:

  • Advanced manufacturing solutions;
  • Additive manufacturing;
  • Augmented reality;
  • Simulation;
  • Horizontal and vertical integration;
  • Industrial internet;
  • Cloud, cybersecurity, big data and analytics.

SPRINT voucher notice 2021

Aimed at micro and small enterprises registered with the Turin Chamber of Commerce, the SPRINT 2021 Voucher Announcement provides for a total disbursement of 2 million euros, with the aim of helping small businesses deal with the crisis situation caused by the COVID-19 emergency.

SPRINT stands for Supporting Business Restart Projects & New Technologies, and by providing non-repayable grants, the Turin Chamber of Commerce.

Allowable expenses

Thepurchase of goods (new and/or used) and instrumental services, as well as consulting and training services, aimed at coping with the COVID 19 emergency, referring to the following types. Other expenses allowed by the notice are:

  1. For purchase or lease of notebooks and PCs, tablets, USB pendrives, printers, scanners and related accessories as long as they are aimed at remote work;
  2. For purchase or rental of equipment oriented to telematization of activities: webcams, microphone, speakers, integrated systems for video conferencing (including photographic equipment, provided it is related to remote work and online activity);
  3. To purchase cloud technologies and services that can provide remote forms of collaboration, including expenses and contracts for subscription to cloud services in software as a service mode;
  4. For VPN purchase and installation, VoiP, data backup/restoration systems and network security;
  5. By configuration of networks and tools for remote work;
  6. For user service software (e.g., websites, apps, integrations with providers, payment services, e-commerce platforms, and delivery systems);
  7. For purchase of instrumentation and services for connectivity (e.g. Wi-Fi modems and routers, switches, antennas, excluding mobile phone devices).
  8. Consulting and training expenses closely related to previous investments;
  9. Consulting and training expenses for securing business facilities needed to align with COVID-19-related health emergency management standards;
  10. To purchase materials to mark out spaces and mark safety distances;
  11. To purchase instruments for measuring the body temperature of people coming into contact with the facility and access control systems;
  12. To purchase separating barriers (glass screens, plexiglass panels, etc.);
  13. To purchase signage and information materials.
