TV Bonus form what changes and how to apply for it in 2022

Also in 2022 it is possible to apply for the TV Bonus. Here’s how.

With the enactment of the Budget Law 2022, 68 million euros were allocated to finance incentives for the purchase of the latest generation of televisions and decoders.

The measure is aimed at encouraging the replacement of obsolete receiving equipment in preparation for the transition to the new broadcasting standard, Dvb-T2 (Digital Video Broadcasting – Second Generation Terrestrial), to be completed by January 2023.

The “switch-off,” in fact, has already begun with the partial divestment of the old MPEG-2 broadcast encoding in favor of the new MPEG-4 on DVBT standards.

Starting in January next year, as the section on new digital terrestrial TV on the MISE website explains, “the DVBT-2 standard will be activated nationwide .

In order to continue to watch the full range of television offerings, it will be necessary to be equipped with equipment that is compliant with the new DVB-T2 transmission standard and the related HEVC Main10 encoding system.”

What is TV Bonus

The funds made available by the Budget Law are used to finance two different incentives (which can be combined with each other), both of which are valid until January 31, 2022: the bonus for the purchase of a new dec oder-“Bonus tv-decoder”-and the bonus for scrapping obsolete equipment- “Bonus scrapping tv.”

Both TV bonuses are given to claimants in the form of a discount on the sale price, applied by the seller in both physical and online stores (including on already discounted products).

Specifically, the
TV scrapping bonus
consists of a discount of 20 percent of the sale price, up to a maximum of 100 euros.

Eligible are users who are current on their fee payments or those who are exempt, that is, those who have reached or exceeded the age of 75.

The incentive for the purchase of a new decoder, on the other hand, is given to those who have an ISEE of 20,000 or less annually; it comes in the form of one 30 euro discount on the sale price including VAT; the discount is equal to the sale price itself, if this is less than 30 euros.

The new Budget Law has introduced a novelty regarding the latter bonus: citizens over the age of 70, with a pension income not exceeding 20 thousand euros annually, who submit the request to the Post Office, can receive the decoder directly at home (provided that the cost of the device does not exceed 30 euros).

The forms to apply for the bonus

Application for the TV-decoder bonus should be made by filling out a special form, to be submitted filled out in its entirety to the seller.

The applicant must enter his or her personal information (first name, last name, date and place of birth, residence, and social security number) and attach a valid identity document to the application form.

By submitting such documentation, the applicant declares that the ISEE value of his or her household does not exceed 20,000 euros but that none of its members have already benefited from the grant.

To qualify for the TV scrapping bonus, it is sufficient to hand over a TV purchased before December 22, 2018 to the seller if the new appliance is purchased from a physical store.

It is also possible to drop off an obsolete piece of equipment at municipal WEEE collection centers; in this case, a self-certification form-signed by the manager of the collection center-is issued attesting to the disposal of the obsolete equipment.

The document can be presented to both physical and online stores to apply for the discount provided by the facilitative framework.

Which devices to purchase?

When replacing obsolete receiving equipment, it is necessary to purchase a TV set compatible with the new TV signal encoding system.

In this regard, MISE has made available a comprehensive list of eligible products; these include Graetz televisions, one of Germany’s largest manufacturers of television sets, synonymous with elegance and reliability.

Graetz-branded screens are also available within the special section of Fastbrain’s store.
